Most cocktail recipes will call for 'Gomme Syrup' (similar to Sugar Syrup) - this is the drink sweetner used in manyclassic cocktail recipes to help soften & blance out theflavours of other ingredients; like alcohol or citrus juices.
Unlike Simple Sugar Syrup, Gomme Syrup contains an emulsifier known as Gum Arabic, which gives it a silky texture, adding body to your drink & preventing it from crystallising. Helpful for long-term storage & use.
If you don’t have Gomme Syruphandy, substitute for a Simple Sugar Syrup, which can be made at home with this easy recipe:
1 Cup Water - bring to the boil
Add 1 Cup Sugar - simmer till dissolved
Cool - then decant into a bottle for easy storage & use
