Named for the year that New Zealanders stood up for their rights and voted down prohibition, 1919’s Original Classic Gin is locally produced in their custom made still. Created using Otago cherries, Manuka Honey, organic lemons and oranges, plus botanicals including juniper, angelica root and cinnamon, this is a classic gin that celebrates old world charm, passion and charisma.
1919 Distilling’s ethanol is made from sugarcane, the same way they did it in the 1900's. This is unique in New Zealand as most distilleries use a cheaper and easier to alternative, whey ethanol. Using the best to make the best, rather than taking any short cuts, the team at 1919 have ensured that there is no compromise on the quality of their products.
With a locally made and custom built still for the Distillery they were able to ensure the absolute best quality and craftsmanship, while supporting the grass roots distilling industry in New Zealand.
